project overview

owning red was created in response to the D&AD HSBC brief challenging designers to help HSBC own Pantone 1795 C globally. The project explores how HSBC can own colour through minimal design and enlarged fragments of the HSBC logo, using shape and layout as the primary visual language. Across posters, airport advertising, social media, and payment design, the work pushed my abilities in branding, spatial thinking, and visual storytelling. By relying on minimal text, the system allows people to instantly recognise HSBC through structure and red alone, making the campaign work naturally across fast-moving, international environments without demanding attention or translation.
